Carmel & Pebble Beach Wedding Transportation

Couple's town cars, guest shuttle loops, and the getaway after the toast — for weddings at Pebble Beach, Carmel-by-the-Sea, on the beach, and along the Big Sur coast.

A peninsula wedding has more logistics than a city one. Guests are spread between Carmel inns and Monterey hotels. The venue is on the coast or behind the Pebble Beach gate. Highway 1 still does what Highway 1 does on a Saturday in September. None of that should be a problem the bride is solving at noon.

What a wedding day looks like

We typically run three vehicle types on a wedding day. A couple's car for the bride and groom — a black SUV or a town car, depending on the dress. A guest shuttle loop, usually a 14-passenger sprinter (or two), running between the hotel block and the venue on a fixed schedule. And a getaway car at the end of the night, often the same couple's car, looping back to take you to the inn.

The shuttle loop is the one that prevents disasters. Carmel and Pebble Beach have almost no rideshare reliability at night, and asking sixty guests to find their own way back at 11pm is how people end up sleeping in lobby chairs. A scheduled loop — departures every 25 minutes, last run at midnight — solves it.

Pebble Beach venues

The Lodge, Spanish Bay, and the Beach & Tennis Club all sit behind the resident gate. Vendors get coded in, but timing the shuttle to clear security without backing up Sunset Drive takes a chauffeur who's done this before. We have. The 17-Mile Drive can also be the photo route between ceremony and reception — see the Pebble Beach guide for the good pullouts. For full chauffeured day plans, see limo tours.

Big Sur coast venues

Ventana, Post Ranch, the smaller cliffside venues south of Bixby Bridge — all sit along Highway 1 between Carmel and Big Sur. From a downtown Carmel hotel block the run is 35 to 55 minutes; from Monterey airport, closer to 90. Build the shuttle schedule backwards from your ceremony time and let us hold a 15-minute buffer for traffic and slides.

Beach and downtown weddings

Carmel Beach ceremonies and weddings at La Playa or the Cypress Inn need less shuttling — most guests can walk — but you still want a couple's car for arrival photos and a getaway car at the end. A town car parked discreetly nearby beats walking in heels back to a rental.

Booking timeline

Peninsula vehicle inventory is finite, and AT&T Pro-Am week (February) and Pebble Beach Concours (August) drain it. For a wedding on either of those weekends, book six months out. Most other dates are fine three months out. We'll hold a soft block once we have your venue and rough guest count.
